Basis of Astrology
Astrology can be card-based or non card-based. It is a group of beliefs and traditions in which the positions of the various celestial bodies relate to the understanding, interpretation and organization of information around personality, human affairs, love lives, etc. A number of traditions have been in place since astrology was first recorded in around 2000 years BC. In fact, it has played a role in the shaping of early astronomy, early culture and the sciences in early history.
Historically, astronomy and astrology were considered indistinguishable. Some have described astrology as an art form, as a symbolic language, a science and a method of divination, while others refer to it as superstition.
Modern Western astrology is based on the twelve signs of the zodiac and the four elements of fire, earth, air and water. They are also divided into three qualities: cardinal, mutable and fixed. The twelve signs are Ares, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Each sign carries certain traits attributable to the person born under that sign.
